National Distracted Awareness Month
A new catchy phrase has been introduced into modern day lexicon thanks to AAA. Their new campaign during National Distracted Awareness Month is “Don’t Drive Intoxicated – Don’t Drive Intexticated.”
The new campaign compares driving under the influence of alcohol to driving distracted.
A study by the AAA shows that ninety-seven percent of drivers know the dangers of cell phone use and driving distracted while driving, yet forty-five percent admit to doing it regularly. Driving distracted results on average of nine deaths per day and one thousand injuries according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
