Shawnee National Forest (Day 21)

truck tent camping, motorcycle camping, Mark twain state park
Half a day was spent changing the tires and the oil for my motorcycle. We spent the night at Mount Vernon since there were major storms heading our way. Thankfully, I called it a day early because several inches of rain came down. The storm was so bad that I opted for a hotel room instead of camping. I”m glad I did, because several inches of rain came down that evening and that would have been a nightmare at a campsite.

Once we left the dealership, we rode straight to Shawnee National Forest. So far I have logged four thousand eight hundred twenty-nine miles.

The camp sites are Shawnee were huge! Biggest we had seen to date. In addition, there is a lots to see and do. Make sure to visit Garden of the Gods, Ferne Clyff Waterfall, and the Pomona Natural Bridge.
