While other states start to defrost, Florida starts to heat up, and with Daytona Bike Week in March, in April it is the Leesburg Bikefest, the world’s largest three-day motorcycle and music festival.
This year, the Leesburg Bikefest is scheduled for April 27-29. I have been to Leesburg multiples times for the rally as it is about three hundred miles from Miami. I particularly enjoy Leesburg because of the many back country roads and small towns that I visit for lunch.
The Leesburg Bikefest celebrates its twenty-second year with musical acts which includes former lead singer of Cinderella Tom Keifer, Colt Ford, and Creed Singer Scott Stapp. In total, there will be more than fifty-five concerts, two hundred plus vendors, hot body contests, and stunt shows.
Unfortunately, last year was the shooting and murder of David Donovan, a member of the Kingsmen MC. Four members of the Outlaws Motorcycle Club were arrested as a result. Their cases remains pending, but how this will affect Leesburg still remains to be seen.
Personally, I had never seen any issues at Leesburg and organizers are quick to point out the shooting took place outside of the event area.
