The popular touring motorcycle is being recalled according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The recall is for Honda Goldwing motorcycles from 2001 through 2010, and 2012 through 2015.
Honda has reported that the rear brakes can “drag” even after being released. In 2014, eight fires were reported. In 2011 and 2014, the Goldwing was recalled for the same issue.
Honda dealers will replace the two brake master cylinders. In total, it is estimated that 145,000 motorcycles will be recalled with owners being notified over the next few weeks.
Considering the severity of the safety issues involved, please contact your local Honda dealer immediately and schedule your appointment.
