“On the fourth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me.”
I’m jumping the gun here because I wanted to mention another idea first, but I couldn’t contain myself. So, here I go.
There are your typical classic motorcycle Christmas reads like Bobby Be Good, Riding Undercover, 25 & 18! Riding Cross Country, and the Unwritten Rules of Motorcycle Riding. Okay, I admit it. I’m partial to these books because I wrote them. Sorry, just a little shameless plug. Let’s move on.
Imagine you meet a stranger and he tells you golf is the greatest sport ever. You reply; “Caddy Shack was awesome.”
“Can’t say I saw it.”
Now you are having a couple of beers with a buddy and you start talking baseball. “I love baseball.”
“Well, if you love baseball, then nothing beats Roy Hobbs in “The Natural.”
“Never saw it. Was it any good?”
Shaking your head yet? Of course, and the same things applies to motorcycle riders. You can’t be a biker and not watch EASY RIDER, the cult classic! Come on! We are talking Hollywood Legends here! Hopper, Fonda, and Nicholson! This is the movie that inspired us to hit the open road and made us want to rebel against society.
As a matter of fact, I’ll take it a step further- no one should be allowed to ride a motorcycle until they have watched Easy Rider first. It’s sacrilegious!
So before you jump on your motorcycle wearing all your cool gear, ready to hear the thunder, take a couple of hours first to watch Easy Rider. You won’t be disappointed. For an added bonus, get the movie poster to hang up in the man cave.
